Being the social coordinator at a technological summer camp in Israel

How’s it like being the social coordinator at a technological summer camp in Israel?

It’s been almost a year since I’ve begun my amazing journey through BIG IDEA’s summer camp in Israel. I was a little bit scared, I’m sure most of you were as well. What should I bring? What will my new friends think about me? Starting something new isn’t easy, no matter how old you are.
I was THRILLED when I first arrived at Meir Shfeya. It was amazing, I felt at home even though I’ve never been there before. I heard new songs, danced #MADHIMAZING dances, I never wanted it to stop (to be honest, they never do!).

I thought a lot about what I, as an unplugged coordinator can offer in a technological summer camp. I had so much planned, but I was so excited I kept making new ones, I wanted to have the perfect activities for your children.

Only when the first session arrived at camp, I begun to grasp how things work. First and foremost, even the kids who REALLY love the workshops need a break in the middle of the day. Whether its to sprint around and spend some energy, play ball or just relax on the lawn with their friends. Secondly, I didn’t even realize how awesome the main events in camp can be. Even in my wildest dreams I couldn’t imagine so many talented campers in the international talent show, how fun Chugim can be and I definitely couldn’t fathom the sheer amount of joy they had during the BIG DAY. I’m so happy that a summer camp in Israel turned out to be so much more than what I expected.

I’m so lucky to have joined the BIG IDEA family and I can’t wait to meet all of you for another #MADHIMAZNG summer.
